Yeah, me too. I have had one on order for over a month with no word on when it would be shipped. I paid a bit more there, but at least I will get it soon.

ABT Electronics has a price matching policy, so you can show them another sites webpage and get the lower price. And it so happens I have found one and it is a AVS sponsor too. Here is the link to show ABT to save $60.00:

I bought my next to last Yamaha receiver from them 3 years ago, and they are a pretty good vendor.

abt are good people, i bought my elite 79avi from them came in 2 days and this is the first week they came out when noone else had them

Just called ABT Electronics and one of the representatives told me that they will not be able to price match because hideflifestyle is not an authorized Toshiba dealer. This is the message I got:


"I went Toshiba's website and it Shows Hi Def Lifestyle isn't an authorized dealer of Toshiba's products. We will not be able to honor the price match. I also checked the stock of the HDA1 and it is on backorder. We are expected to receive them in about 2 weeks.

Who is expected to receive them in about 2 weeks, ABT or HIDEF Lifestyle? According to HIDEF's web site, they should have them in on Friday, 5/5/06. Or was ABT saying that their next shipment would be in about 2 weeks? When I order my unit yesterday from ABT, the ad said "in stock" so I hope this doesn't mean that I now have to wait 2 weeks... :mad:

I just called ABT and they said my HD-A1 (that I ordered yesterday) shipped today!...:)

Yep, I ordered from ABT yesterday, and called today to check if it was Backordered and they said it shipped today.!!



I did send them a e-mail asking if they would price match with HDL, still waitin on a reply.


I will finally get my hands on one of these babies!!.

I ordered via internet from ABT on 5/2 almost the same time as you. Before you called, did you receive a confirmation email from them that your order had shipped? (not referring to the initial email you get after ordering)

the regular to the public price at hdl is $499. they have a avs special price but abt may not match that due to it not being available to the general public.

No, previous to calling I did not get a confirmation email, but several hours after I called them I got a "QuantumView" UPS shipping notification with a tracking number and shipping details. If all goes as planned, the unit will be here on Monday...:)
