What are the differences in these two units, besides 4800 having DD decoder (which I do not need)?

The 4800 has:

- onboard DD decoding

- DVD-A capability

- different remote

Video performance is identical.

I bought the progressive scan Tosh SD-4800 to scale non-anamorphics to anamorphic as the 4800 has the ability for the zoom icon to be turned off easily while the upped ratio stays.

I know that the Tosh 4800 had DVD-A but I couldn't care less I wanted the disapeering zoom icon the most. The Tosh 3800 is $30 cheaper but no DVD-A if your into DVD-A the 4800 would do nicely.

My JVC XVS500BK only does scaling for PAL R2 UK or R4 Australia, now with both players I can make anamorphics out of *any* 2.35:1 discs in the world to be viewed on my RCA F-38310JX4 Wide Screen HDTV 19H X 33.25W inches of viewing area.
