Hello, my parents recently bought the Toshiba 40XV640U tv. First, I'm wondering why the SD channels have black bars on the sides of the screen? My tv doesn't and I can't figure out how to get rid of them on their tv. Also, how can I calibrate the tv so that the picture looks better? Anyone know any good settings? Thanks in advance.

That's because SD is 4:3 (or 12:9) while the TV is 16:9. You can stretch out the SD pix but objects will appear short and wide.
