Over the last couple of days I've been doing some online research for my next TV purchase, which will be my first HDTV purchase.
This will be my living room TV, and it will replace my 31" CRT 4X3 TV.
Having looked into specs and features I determined that a 120HZ model would be much preferable to a 60HZ unit, which forced a downsizing of screen size that I was planning to purchase.
Still, a 42" 16X9 screen is 1" higher/taller than my current TV screen, so I'll be getting a slightly bigger image on standard def (4X3) stuff, and a significantly bigger image for widescreen sources.
So the model that I came up with was the Toshiba 42XV545U. I like a lot of things about this model - but not one local retailer carries it, so I'll be ordering it online, sight unseen.
Which is why I need your help. Does anyone here have this model, and if so, what do you think about it?
Secondarily, if I get it I'm going to need a crash course in LCD HDTV Calibration, but that will be the next issue. Right now I need to make sure that I'm getting the right set. Price IS an issue, and this one is at the upper end of what I can pay ($1200).
So, is there a concensus about the 42XV545U? Your feed back will be VERY much appreciated.
Thanks!
