Toshiba 50HP66 stuck on "Seaching please wait"

Good morning forum... I have a strange one. I obtained a Toshiba 50hp66 recently and finally got the opportunity to install a new antenna so I could get some of the digital channels off the air. The set was working great until late in the day when I was showing the wife how to use the remote to get to the new digital channels. I was surfing and got to channel 36-001. I then tried to change channels and it just said 'searching please wait'. I tried going to setup and doing a CH PROGRAM to have it find channels and the same words came up. I tried power cycling the TV, I tried using ADD ERASE channels, I tried checking for LOCKED channels, I tried using INPUT, I tried use direct channel selection and as a last resort I downloaded and read the manual! I could do nothing to change the channel on the set! I could not find a FACTORY RESET only video and audio resets. So now I have a great 50" plasma TV that only receives ONE CHANNEL! By the way, I also disconnected the antenna but that didn't clear the condition. Help... anyone else ever have this problem? I guess I might need to call service but I was hoping it was something simple that I am missing.

That sucks. I own the 50HP86 (Cdn Model) and I am not aware of any factory reset. Have you unplugged the set for an hour or so? Can you get a DVD to display? Just a thought, this set has an auto power back on in the event of a power outage (odd feature) so try unplugging it with power on and plug it back in. That may trigger a reset of sorts. Wouldn't hurt to call Toshiba support for advice.

I have the same model and problem. What happened with yours? Did Toshiba fix it?

I know this is way after you guys posted...

But I've purchased this tv and now I am having the same problems...

If either of you found a solution or can tell if toshiba fixed the problem...

I would be forever grateful...
