toshiba 52hm84

have a toshiba 52hm84 and am considering buying a new computer with windows media center, can i use my set as a monitor for the new puter?. there was a message included with the set saying it is not supposed to be used as a computor monitor. any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. and if it can be used what would i need in the way of cables, etc. to hook it up? thanks

depending on your card, i would just get a dvi to component converter so you can bypass the dvi to hdmi converter cause i think that is screwing things up, everyone who has had sucess using the tosh with their htpc has been using the dongle. search around . hope that helps
