Toshiba 55WX800 is this any good tv?

55inch led 240hz 3D tv. I know the spec sounds good but I am not sure if Toshiba is good brand when it comes to Tv? Can someone confirm me on this.

Is this a good tv

Hello,

I was also looking for a review of the 55WX800. I found the following website: (sorry this is my first post and AVS won't let me post urls)

Search for the website televisioninfo and 55WX800 first impressions and it should come up

Bottom line is it sounds like a good TV but the 3D is subpar.

yea. Amazon has a good deal that throws in 2 free pair of glasses. smaller model includes blu ray player as well. Probably get it with 55 if you call and beg. But still i've read 3 reviews for this tv only. not making me bite.

Where are the reviews? After almost pulling the trigger at the amazon deal, I found an even cheaper deal at crutchfield.com. They had it for $1399 free shipping and no tax. They did not have the 2 free glasses, but with the tax savings I still can buy the 2 pair of glasses at amazon and be ahead.

I'm pretty sure Crutchfield's set is a spoof. Today its listed as "discontinued" which we all know isn't true because it was just released. I've heard they do this from time to time to pull people into their site.

I am REAL close to making a decision and can't decide between the following:

Toshiba 55WX800 - $1600

Sony HX800 - $2100

Sony NX810 - $2800

I imagine the NX810 is better than the other two. But Toshiba is a decent brand and a 3D for 1600 bucks is a steal. I've heard the 3D is slightly subpar, but lets face it, 3D viewing isn't going to be king for a good many years. It will be a novelty that will include "some things". I dunno....

I kept trying to look for the negatives, but they were hard to find. The TV ships from Amazon directly, Toshiba is a good brand name, and the feature set is pretty incredible for the price.

I am curious as to why they are letting them go for so little $.

My theory is shipments came in too late to make it into the retail channels and thus creating a surplus. Now just trying to sell the most before the end of the holidays.

I expect to receive mine next week will post my impressions.

Still trying to decide between this and the Sony 55NX810.

The Sony is over $1,000 more for the same size. The specs look nearly identical. Both are even flush panels in the its a pane of of glass across the front. Sony has always been king in my house. I've owned Samsung and LG. Samsung's CS was horrible and the LG is just plain garbage. I know a lot of people love LG, but I won't touch their stuff.

A fully equipped 55 inch 3D TV for $1600 is really hard to beat. I know Toshiba is really trying to get themselves out there so who knows.

I just picked up the 46" + 2 glasses + blu-ray player for a song.. less then I could get any other 46" 240hz LCD LED TV for on it's own. Amazon has a great return policy on TV's so I will try it out and send it back if it's no good.

I will try to remember to post some info once I get it (sometime next week).

I'm hoping you guys will post some reviews.

I am MOST interested in the edge bleeding and off angle viewing issues.

I'd love to see a pic of edge bleeding. Turn the TV on and dont have any sort of input so you can see any backlight edge bleeding.

Angle viewing, I'm sure you can figure out how to see that.
