Toshiba announced early this week that they are not going to be supporting any of the new DLP Rear Projection sets in Canada. Along with the lack of Plasma support, it now looks like Toshiba is only going to be offering LCD Panels to the Canadian market. Quite unfortunate considering how nice the 72" model has been for the money. It was a great value with an amazing picture.


Rumour is that Toshiba is doing very poorly in Canada with a large number of supporters dumping the brand off their floors. With Samsung, Sharp & Sony currently dominating the LCD market, Toshiba may be in for some serious hardtimes this Fall/Winter.

With the lack of marketing for the 2007 DLPs in the U.S. (not even a press announcement) and the absence of MX series models this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Toshiba stopped making DLPs after this year. Strange, since they have generally received excellent reviews.
