Toshiba HD-D1 Scaling Issue?

551 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  TrevorS
Newbie to HDDVD.

Bought the HD-D1 and updated the firmware to 2.0 (I think).

After watching King Kong and Alpha Dog I notice a lot of jaggies or scaling issues on curves or angled lines.

I will check for another firmware update, but I thought I would see if there was a common issue or fix for this by posting here.

Running 1080i player into a 720 P Optoma projector via HDMI.

Should I set the input on the Optoma to 1080i?

Is there an issue with 1080P discs playing on a 1080i player?

What have I missed?

No reason to presume a 1080i feed will result in best picture on a 720p display -- try both. Also, proper 720p output requires at least 2.0 (no guessing), and you should update to 2.2.
