It should have the Reon chip of course (and have native 1080/24 support) and should load HD-DVDs very quickly. It should of course decode all lossless audio formats and be able to output them over multi-channel analog connectors.

The really killer feature though would be at least two HDMI inputs. These should provide scaling using the Reon and decoding of the lossless audio formats (with analog multichannel output). Toshiba should also provide a full set of discrete IR codes.

They should sell this player for $300. Every HD-DVD loyalist would buy one but it would also convert many BD loyalists to format neutral since it would provide so much additional functionality over HD-DVD playback.
