Which one is better to play dvd and occassionally cd's and mp3?

I see lot of bad posts about philips on this site but on other all sites people are happy with this philips player. i just want to confirm and if it has problem with progressive scan etc then i will go with toshiba unless someone have real reservations about this toshiba player.
