I've connected the Toshiba SD5000 to a LG 50PS70 plasma TV via HDMI cable.

The TV acknowledges that there is a device connected; the HDMI #1 icon is highlighted in the input source menu of the TV.

But all there is on the screen of the TV is a “No Signal” prompt?

I have tried 2 different cables both of which are version 1.3.

If I connect with component cables there is sound & picture?

A few times now while trying different SD5000 settings; I’ve lost video even with the component cables and have had to unplug the unit, from the power source. Once plugged back in; the video would come back so I could see the on screen menu.

What am I doing wrong not to have signal with the HDMI cable?

While you have component connecting and working go through the setup menu check to see if you have to enable HDMI or something like that. Cables have nothing to do with it.

Thank you for the reply.

I did what you said; and checked in the set up menu (again) and sure enough there was a choice for SD or HD; nothing about HDMI.

But magically after clicking on HD; the HDMI light on the front panel popped on and now it will allow me to use the front panel button to toggle through the different resolutions.

I thought I looked through those same set-up menus before I posted my question; but it obvious I missed that section.

Thank you again.
