Will I get a window box or letterbox picture from a broadcast signal with this STB and analog set? Will I still get a 4x3 picture in a 16x9 frame if the station broadcasts their signal this way? Will I get a picture equal to uncompressed satellite picture? Thanks for your time.

I can't answer as to how the Toshiba would appear on an analog set, but I did have a DTC-100 hooked up to an analog set for a while.


Using the zoom mode, 4x3 pictures broadcast in 16x9 mode with side bars would fill the screen. True 16x9 pictures would appear letterboxed.


The picture quality on HD was every bit the equal of a good DVD. The SD signals were pretty good as well, definitely as good as the quality ones coming over my DirecTV.
