I have a chance to purchase a Toshiba TLP-411 from a local computer dealer. The projector was used predominantly as a classroom projector for their training classes. Appearance tells me that it has seen little usage over the years they have had it. I have not checked/do not know if the unit records the actual hours of usage. Supposedly, the unit is rated at 600 lumens I think (dealer says 700 but net research yields 600).

Does anybody have this projector? What is your opinion of it if you have one or have seen one used in a HT environment (HDTV, DVD, HTPC, etc.)?

I currently have a ceiling mounted Sony 1270 that I am very pleased with. I really don't expect this projector to be much (if any) brighter. I have a 120" screen. For those reasons, does this swap make sense for me?

They owner wants $700 for it but I can probably buy it for a buck or two less. Is this a good/smart move for me? Is it a parallel move, an upward move or a backwards step?

All knowledgeable opinions will be greatly appreciated. :)

uhh, isn't that an 8x6 LCD projector? that would be a way backward step in image quality.
