I've got an ancient non-HD Toshibat Theaterwide 16:9 RPTV, released about the same time as the DVD format. (1996?) Thing has sat in the basement for years. I'm trying to hook it up again, and I'm finding that the image is now rounded at the edges. It kind of comes and goes. But, for example, if you switch to the 4:3 view, the images is more circular than square. Same is true in the Theaterwide (stretch) mode as well as in Full. Is this likely a power supplly problem, or something else. The set has sentimental value, although I recognize that I could probably by a new 40 inch flat panel for what this one would take to fix. Well, not quite. . . . but you get my point.
