Hi guys! I'm reading a lot from your forum and I gained enough courage to ask my first question on here since there´s a lot of people with lots of knowledge.

For the first time, I'm buying a receiver and I'm going to buy good speakers for it.

First, you should know that even though I'm a music fanatic, I'm buying this to be my whole system sound; the TV is going to be plug here, for movies and videogames.

I'm caught between two options:

Denon DHT-1513BA Total 650 Watt 5.1 Channel Home Theater System with Boston Acoustics Premium Speaker System

Or the same receiver but instead of the Bostons, they are offering me a Jamo S426 HC3 set.

I'm reading online and I have like the two possible ends; "Those Boston are NOTHING compared to those Jamo" and "Those Jamo are NOTHING compared to those Boston". So; anyone of you have this in your home? Anyone know someone who owns any of these? Which of the two should I go with? :) I'm appreciate any information because I'm actually a newbie and I'm buying one by the end of the month.

My room it's actually small. Not that big. 3 mts tall, 4mts long and 2.6mts wide.

What do you guys think?

Thank you so much for any advice!

If music is your primary concern, forget 5.1. You can watch movies and do games with a better 2.1 system.

Here's the Denon on sale.

Here's a much better sub.

That leaves you with $400 for a much better set of speakers. Don't need floorstanders because the sub covers that.

These aren't the finest looking set of speakers but it's the sound that matters.

It looks like you linked the Dayton subwoofer twice. I think starting with a good 2.1 is the way to go.

The Denon 1513 doesn't have Audyssey (calibration software). I would move up to one of the entry level models (E-300 or E-400) that has Audyssey as well (or close-outs, 1613 for example).

Are you interested in going the 2.1 route? If so there are a number of decent options for your front speakers in the $400 range.

Awesome! If anyone can contribute on more information, that would be awesome!

I can second the Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 SEs. Very good speakers for the money

That would be an excellent setup with the Denon 1513 and Dayton SUB1000.

Well guys, thank you for your feedback.

So I'm actually dug a little deeper on some brands and models.

What would you choose and why?

Jamo S626 speakers, Pioneer S-RS33TB, Advent H 500, Boston CR97, Take Take TWR, Klipsch RF-52 II Floorstanding Speaker or Omnisat OMNISAT v2 FS.

These are my options, and I don't have a clue. Anybody here in the forum have any of these? Can recommended me one of these options? :)

Thank you so much again, guys. It means a lot!

Why, Zieglj?

It is hard for Boston to make a bad speaker - and the CR series is nice
