Tough Time buying high def

559 Views 9 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  adomis
I've spent the past 2 months purchasing and returning 3 high def TV's. A cheap 32 inch lcd, a panasonic and a toshiba color tube high def. Besides high def television and watching DVDs my main reason for buying a new TV is xbox gaming (FPS mainly). I had to return the two because the motion blur on them were so bad it gave me terrible headaches.

In the past I've used two different 55 inch high def projections televisions for my gaming and I didn't have any problems with motion blur on those. That leads me to believe that high def projections are my only option. Now for the sake of my back I can't go buying +150lb TV's and returning them so I'm asking you guys if you could help teach me. 37-42 inches would be best but it looks as though it difficult to find high def projections for less than 50ish inches. This is going to be for my room so I'm hoping to find a 37-42 inch TV. Price range around 1200 or less.

Any help you guys can give me about motion blur or 37-42 inch projection high defs would be SOOOOOOO appreciated. I know there are many different kinds of projection TV's and I'm wondering what would be the best for gaming and NO MOTION BLUR. Please fellas, I have no clue

If you can come up with a little more cash, I would suggest the Sony 42 inch A10 model. This set is very easy to set up for a great picture on SD(source dependent), HD and in my opinion, gaming. Hope you get what your looking for.

Ya, everyone seems to be quite pleased with the a10s for gaming. Have yet to hear anything but good things about it and gaming.
Thanks, I really appreciate the opinions. I am looking for something a little less expensive with the same size (or a bit smaller). Is there a different brand who offers a similar product so I won't have to pay for the Sony name?

Your NOT paying for the Sony name. Your paying for performance.........It just happens to have a Sony badge on it. Sometimes (not always) you get what you pay for. This time Sony delivers. Buy it at CC or BB and take it back if you don't agree.

You've been bottom-feeding and aren't happy with the results. Take the advice of others and be willing to spend a bit more so that you end up with something you're happy with.

Thanks for the info, I'm just repeating bad advice I guess, thanks for clearing it up. I wish I could get a smaller projection more in my price range considering this will be for my bedroom. The other televisions which i tried had good reviews and were 26 and 32 inches. I figured I could get a projection more that size or a touch bigger for my price range but I guess that's not possible. I also thought projection technology wouldn't cost as much as high def LCDs or color tubes, so I figured I could get a projection that same size or larger for a similar price. I guess I'll keep looking, thanks

We are just trying to help. I'm not aware of any projection LCD or DLP smaller than 42 inches. I know you can get a few flat panels smaller and in your price range, but you are already aware of the problems. Again, I would suggest the A10 Sony.

Mike
I appreciate it, I'll take a closer look at that A10
