I purchased a used 40' tower that I'm in the proccess of setting up. I also purchased an older CM rotor and controller. From the research I've been doing, I'd like to install the rotor inside the tower, but my understanding is I'll need to purchase either a plate or a rotor pole that attaches to one of the tower legs.


The other thought was to run a 10' mast up the apex, attach my VHF, then attach the rotor to the top, and run a short mast off the rotor to my UHF 91xg


Ive attached pics of the tower and cm rotor. Any idea on the brand of tower and possibly how old the rotor is? I paid $100 for the tower from a local fella on craigslist and I got the rotor, controller, and 60' 3 conductor cable for $50 from a local cb shop.

You got the tower for a deal. You got taken on the rotor. New ones with are available for less than $80, and I'd say the extra money would be well worth the possible grief of taking down the tower if the old rotor dies anytime soon.
