'Traffic'

R Winner of 4 Oscars«, this searing portrait of the war on drugs stars Michael Douglas as a judge appointed America's newest "drug czar," empowered to fight the traffic of illegal narcotics across U.S. borders. When he discovers that his own daughter (Erika Christensen) is an addict, his views are radically altered. Meanwhile, a pampered wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) learns her husband is a drug lord, a Mexican cop (Benicio Del Toro) discovers the corruption in his department and two cops (Don Cheadle and Luis Guzman) shield a high profile witness. This is an excellent movie in my opinion.

I have the DVD and would like to see the HDTV version on Showtime.

It's too bad that it's on at the same time as 'The Sopranos'.

I do, however I can't get HBO, for 'The Sopranos' and ShowtimeHD for 'Traffic' at the same time through the Dish 5000. :(

No, I saw it on DVD. When I say terrible movie, I am not talking about picture quality, just the story line.
I thought the segments including Benicio Del Torro (sp?) were very convincing, the Zeta Jones segments weren't very plausible to my mind, but it will for sure be cool to catch this in HD at last.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, DVD, Hi Def or otherwise.

Being born and bred in San Diego(where much of it was shot), this movie is more true to life than you might think. It could've easily been a documentary.

I guess you had to be there. :D

Traffic is not a good movie to demo the PQ of your home theater.

Much of the movie was shot through colored filters; yellow for the scenes related to the Mexico story, blue for those related to his daughter's drug problem, etc.
