Hello, I am new to this site and I need some advice on how to transfer a bunch of old VHS tapes to DVD's. Forgive me if this is not the right forum, I didn't know which one this topic would fall into.

So far, it seems like a TV tuner/capture card and a DVD burner is the best route to go. The thing is, I have zero experience with TV tuners and need some advice as to which one would best suit my needs.

Basically, I want something with decent quality capture and the ability to use it for watching/recording TV after this project is done. Cost isn't so much a concern, but I would like to keep it reasonable (under $150 if possible).

I already have a PC set aside that will be dedicated to the process. It has an AMD Duron 1.8Ghz, 512mb RAM, 60GB HDD, GF3, etc. Is that decent enough for the encoding of video?

Any help is Appreciated!
