Here's a suggestion for a feature:

The ability to make the channel guide or the channel info at the top transparent. That way you can still watch the program in progress while you see what else is on.

What I'd really like to see is the channel info at the top of the screen transparent, since I look at this during recorded shows often (I have this thing about knowing how much time is left in a program).

I know that when the title bar turns off, it fades out and becomes transparent on the way out. Why not just make it transparent from the get go, or make this an option on the "brightness" setup screen.

I've had my unit for a week and love it. I'm using it with Dish Network and have already missed two programs though, due to bad channel switching. On the recording I can see that only two of the three digits were picked up by the dish box and it did not change.

3.0 added VERY limited transparency...they need to do it in more places to make it matter.

Personally, if they ONLY were going to add it on that small part of the Channel Guide I don't know why they bothered...

Well I like it. If it was any more transparent it might be too hard to read. At least you can get an idea of what's going on, or when the commercial is over. If I have not found anything good by the time the commercial is over I usually switch back to the crap I was watching.

I just want to reiterate.

I mainly would like the show title bar to have to option of being transparent.

Dish network has this and it works VERY well. You can see the show details and times while watching without missing anything. ALSO, they could make the window a little bigger so there would be more room for a complete description. (Replay guys, please press the "info" button on a Dish Network box to see what I'm talking about.)

I don't really care about having the program guide transparent. I'm not sure why I even included that in the topic.

HastyPete - you're right.

The show title bar should be transparent.

What would be PERFECT?

TiVo's easy-to-read but still transparent look but on EVERY menu...basically take TiVo's strange little border it draws (bottom right to top right of the screen) and place that OVER PLAYING VIDEO (ALL the time) and make it transparent.

A completely unintrusive guide we'd have then.

But then where would the ads go? http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

Hi all,

i have a hughes dss, and when you are seeing a program and press the up/down arrows a little box with the channel guide appears at the bottom of the screen, it is just 1 channel and 1 1/2 hour long, you can't scroll the bar to the right to see what is coming next, but you can scroll the complete channel guide (even jump between channels, and entering a channel number directly to see what is on the air right at that time, when you press select then you jump to that channel or if you press exit the box disappears

saludos desde mexico
