Does anyone have experience traveling via air with a CRT? My Sony 1031Q wants to be adopted by someone who proposes to transport it as checked luggage. My initial reaction was one of disbelief! However, I thought I'd pose the question anyway. There is no forward air at this airport or I would have suggested dropping it off on the way to the passenger terminal.

If "Some" airlines (or at least they used to) handle special items and WON'T try to dump it on the carouse, where it REALLY gets damaged. However, I think it might be over the weight limit for checked luggage.l

Your best bet is probrably to call some airlines and ask You may get lucky. One never knows. If you don't ask the answer is always "no."

It's well over the weight limit for carry on luggage.

I would just take an adjustable wrench, and take the one from the aeroplane itself after landing.

I wonder what would happen at the security check if I would let someone carry a rebuilt tube on his carry on luggage...

"What is that?"

"Oh, it is just an electron gun"

"THIS MAN HAS A GUN!!!!!!!!"...
