I wonder what the opinions are for the best sound correction system out there is. I have a Pioneer SC-05 with MCACC and while it is pretty good it does have its limitations, primarily at lower frequencies (ie subwoofer). I have read a little about the Trinnov's Optimizer as found in the Sherwood Newcastle and on paper it appears to be a supperior system if for no other reason then it appears capable of correcting for low frequencies and, if I remember correctly, having more microphones to monitor several locations at the same time.

So, what's the general consensus here?

That's a good question.

I'm quite interested in how they compare, too, & asked the question in the Sherwood thread. Apparently, no "normal" users here have been able to do it because it hasn't been released yet (?)

Something weird is going on here. The mags have been talking about the Sherwood Newcastle 972 with Trinnov Optimizer since last October but it's still a no show. I'm not sure what to make of the prolonged wait but the technology seems interesting which is why I asked. The SC-05 with MCACC is pretty good but lacking in low frequency compensation/correction so a system reported to be able to handle sub freqs and using multiple microphones has my interest.

There are third party add-ons to correct for sub freqs such as the Antimode 8033 but it would be nice to have the complete correction done within the same box and better if that box is the AVR. Not that I'd be dumping my 6 month old SC-05 anytime soon for and otherwise similar AVR, but, as I said, the idea of a more complete and accurate correction is appealing.

why don't you just go with a SVS EQ1?? I mean the SC05 is a nice AVR and pretty expensive, why get rid of it?

+1... or, if you are like me and incredibly lazy, an anti-mode 8033... the box is small, if you are worried about the multiple box solution....

Well, as I mentioned in my prior, I have no intention of replacing the SC-05 anytime soon. I am interested, nonetheless, in the technology behind the Trinnov Optimizer and would like to hear more about it. For my SC-05 I have concidered the Antimode and the Behrintger options and will opt for one of them before long.
