I installed Media Player Classic Alternative and have been trying to play 720p movie trailers from the Apple site. I'm getting very choppy playback and usually MPC ends up crashing. My CPU use is hitting 100%.


Wonder what is going on and what I need to play these files.


My system: AMD 2800+, 1 gig ram, ATI Radeon 9600 pro.

Follow this thread @ TGB, it will get you there. Basically you need Quicktime Alternative, Matroska Splitter, and you need to register .mp4 as a video file in your registry. The program is actually pretty cool too, every few weeks I use it to download all the latest trailers from Apple's site.
