I have been trying to buy a 360 Elite with the Jasper chipset. Not luck. None of my stores have any 360's with a manufacture date later then Nov. 2008! I traveled everywhere. I can't believe how hard it is to find one. Gamestop says they don't get new stock until Microsoft releases a new bundle or they sell are their current stock. I am so ticked at Microsoft. I want to spend $400 on one of their products and I can't find them.


Anyway to gurantee you get one if you buy it on-line like from Amazon or a Gamestop.com????

I've not seen any Jasper Elites myself. They seem to be either very rare or non-existent depending on who you talk to.


GO ahead and do the Arcade plus HDD if you're in a hurry, or pick up a Red one.

Nobody has reported a Black Jasper Elite; closest is the Red Resident Evil Elites, which are Jaspers. The Dell Arcade path is cheapest if you don't care about case color...

There are no Jasper Elites. ONLY the red RE5 edition elites are Jaspers. All the black ones are not.

So if I get 120 gig HD from someone/somewhere else, can I get the transfer cable from Microsoft for free still? My 20 gig is completely full and I need to move a lot of data that will take a long time with memory cards.

Someone posted a couple of pictures of an elite jasper from overseas, didn't check to see if it was real though. Haven't heard of any in the USA.


My Falcon elite RROD so I bought a jasper arcade and just swapped the case. Poof it's a Jasper elite =P

This isn't an official 120gb hard drive... the guy just bought a hard drive, formatted to 360, and put it in the shell... thats a good hack to save money but I wouldn't spend $10 to buy one of those from someone...

I called a local gamestop and the guy was like, "We have a bunch of elites." He knew how to check to see if it had the jasper. He said he was to busy, to call back later and he would go in the back to check. I called later, he can't do it, to busy. Suggested I call the next day, first thing. So I did. He is all alone, no one else in the store, suggested I call 2 hours later. Called 2 hours later, he suggested I just come down to the store and we could go in the back to look together, still to busy to do it on the phone.


Wow, a company sure doesn't want to take my $400! Pathetic store.

THEY ARE also using the exact same cloned software serial number for every one of those drives. This makes it instantly and perfectly detectable by Microsoft the moment you connect the machine to Live. The fact that the switch to ban every single one of those machines has not been hit up until today does not mean that it will not be hit tomorrow.


It would be quite nice if you would stop preying on the ignorant by promoting this crap.

So I walked in to best buy today and they had 2 Jasper Elite's.


I got one, got home and found out that while they are Jasper Elites' they no longer come with the HDMI cable. So I have to buy that now.


Looks like this is the new Elite that will be sold with the price drop. I'm somewhat pissed that I paid $399 and didn't get the HDMI cable. I'll certainly be going back to bestbuy and requesting my $100 back when the price changes.

Oh and it didn't even come with component cables, it only came with STANDARD A/V cables.
