TS160 VCR Control.... works on DVD Recorder?

Has anyone gotten the TS160's VCR Control to work on a DVD Recorder? I am getting my TS160 tommorrow and hope that it might be able to tell my Phillips DVDR75 to record.

Hmmm....I wonder if it can tell a ReplayTV to record too (since the ReplayTV cannot tell the TS160 to record digital OTA channels)?
