These are normally $36.99 at Amazon.

I picked up a pack to try at $36.99 last week to try. It has great reviews. For $26.99 I'm thinking of picking up a second pack. I called the company and they said it was a weekend sale. (Friday, Sat, Sun).
My plan it to use them for IMAX type speaker highlighting behind my AT screen. At least to see how it works. If that doesn't work well I'll probably put them above and below my projector screen.
Sound controlled, IR Remote, cut to specific length you need.

Some accessories you might need if you want to cut them into strips:

Additional connectors to connect directly from controller to cut light strips

So mine actually arrived today since I have prime and bought them on Thursday (before the special).
They are excellent looking lights and the sound control aspect is really cool. The videos on youtube don't do the light justice.

However mine came with a remote control that does not work. I'm going to buy another set, because I think they are very cool. I'll have to get in touch with the company and see if they can send me a new remote control. Or just scrape by with the single remote from the second set. Hopefully their quality control is up to par.

FWIW, the price history at camelcamelcamel.com shows that it has been $30 since december except for that bump up last week right before the sale. Looks like you got unlucky.

Great find...wanted some lights to get the imax speaker highlight effect too...I think I'll start with one strip along the back-bottom side of my screen since its 26.99 right now...or maybe do all 4 sides of the screen now...hmmm...

@asoofi1,

Each of these $26.99 kits can only control one strip without an amplifier.
You can connect more than one 5M LED strip to the same sound controller - so that the light changing syncs --- however, you'll need the power amplifiers to do so. Each power amplifier can drive two strips.

You can buy the 50/50 lights outside of the kit, but for the price difference you might as well buy a second TT-SL029 kit.

--- From what I've read you want to make sure your LED strips all come from the same manufactorer - so that the colors match shades perfectly. I went with taotronic's kit because the reviews were nearly five star with over a hundred reviews compared to many of the other cheaper kits being 3 stars. At $26.99 - they are pretty much as cheap at the other kits - with better reviews across the board.

Your screen could probably have lights behind on all sides with two 5m strips --- so if you wanted them to sync together you'd need two kits and an amplifer too.

I bought two kits, one kit is behind the subs, one kit was cut into three small pieces and under the mainspeakers. I'm not sure what I'll do with the remaining length of the second kit yet. Mine was easier because I didn't want the two kits to be synchronized. I wanted to be able to operate them independantly so that I could have my speaker lights different than my sub lights.

They make 90* angle connectors if you need them to use behind the screen.
