When in native mode:

1080i->1080i, 720p->720p, 480i (NTSC)->480i. Right?

But my televisions will not sync to compositite video out when in native and tuned to local NTSC channel. If I explicitly select 480i, then they sync fine - but not "Native" mode. Because of this I have to go down two flights of stairs to switch from Native to 480i when retiring to bedroom. (Hold the flames please.) Is there no way to change this from remote?

Ideas and suggestions solicited.

(I like the product except for extreme slowness compared to what I was used to in NTSC STB's.)

No you can't change it via remote.

Why not just put it in 720P or 1080I and let it upconvert for all sources. Mine's set at 1080i and the upconversion really improves the image quality.

If it were only connected to one television, that would be fine. But I go through a Knox Matrix Router and not all sets connected can handle all resolutions.

What I don't get is this: when receiving an off-air or DirecTV NTSC signal and set to native, the Standard NTSC televisions cannot sync. But when I explicitly select 480i, they sync fine.

So, if coming in 480i with native selected, why isn't it going out 480i?
