Depends on how you look at it. It is less power, but it also has much fewer inputs, there are no specs at all on the DAC, and no headphone amp. If the DAC is of decent quality, it might be a nice comparison to the Peachtree Decco. It certainly is a nice looking amp, I would love to hear one.

Actually, reading the manual it seems to have a headphone amp. For my case, I need 2 analog and 3 digital. I sent them some questions regarding the headphone amp and the DAC, so we will see what they say.

Need specs on the DAC and what can the usb do? Most likely, limited to 48kHz.

I would think the DAC in the T-2 would not be on a par with the DAC in the Nova but you never know. The Nova has many more features than the T-2 without a doubt. HT Bypass, preouts for an external amp, more analog/digital inputs and the provision to dock a Sonos unit if you have one.

I have nothing against Def Tech speakers which Neuhaus is also selling. I owned the 2006tl tower speakers and I would say from experience they are not a great speaker for 2 CH music listening IMO.

I agree great find, love the look of the amp! In my experience tube watts go a lot farther than solid state so 20Wx2 I would think should be enough for most ppl.

I have to say, my favorite part about the amp is it's pure tube. IMO music just sounds warmer and more life like through a tube amp compared to solid state.

Got my response from the manucfacturer:

Thanks for your interest in the neuhuas laboratories T-2 amp. The main DAC chip used is Cirrus Logic 24 bit /96 KHz. But we actually incorporate two chips. I know a lot of people are touting 24 bit and 96 KHz, but you need to remember that iTunes only supports 16/44. Also if you attach our amp to an Apple Airport Express to send your music anywhere in your home from your computer to the T-2 in a different part of your home it also only supports 16/44. We tested many other chips especially 24 bit units and they did not sound well with iTunes which is what most people use to store their music, which is why we also have a 16/44 chip.

Headphone plug input is standard 1/4". Amp specs are on our web site. Plugging in headphones disables the external speakers.

We have been working on this amp for a while now I think you will notice tube audio in combination with digital music is awesome. Your digital files have never sounded so good.

So I don't think I would compare it with the Nova, it might be an interesting comparison with the Decco.
