Here's the current specs of my desktop:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

ZALMAN CNPS9500

ASUS P5W DH DELUXE

4 gigs RAM

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX

CORSAIR CMPSU-620HX 620W

I was hoping to stuff all this into a Silverstone LC13B-E ATX case.

All I'm looking to be able to do is watch Bluray rips and some avi's on a 50in Pioneer plasma. And maybe play a few games, surf the web. Anything you would upgrade? Should I get a vid card with HDMI? Thanks guys

If you want 7.1 HD audio, then you'll either need an ATI 4000 series card or an Nvidia 9000 series (or better) card plus a Xonar HDMI audio card.

If you're fine with 5.1 audio, then you're good to go with what you have.

If he wanted lpcm 8 channel then he would need the HD4XX0, but if he adds a xonar then ANY card with DVI output would work just fine, he would in no way need a newer card if passing through a Xonar HDAV.
