Has anyone found a working solution for viewing a TV with a notebook?

I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 from my work and I could use it with my projector if there would be a good solution for Video-in or TV-tuner. All the cards I have found have been PCI, not PCMCIA. I have seen the USB-versions, but the picture quality doesn't please me. Actually, firewire version would also be suitable for me :D

Of course it would be best if I could use the DScaler but other possibilities might also be bearable.

DScaler only works with specific chipsets on a PCI bus, so DScaler isn't an option. I haven't seen a PCMCIA capture card, but would be interested if you find one. I am still trying to track down a USB Abit UA-11 for getting DD and DTS passthru out of a laptop, but they are not publicly available in the US yet.

Hi,

This is the only one that I can remember seeing!

TV-to Go

I use the DVD-to Go and it works very well!! They also make dongles for digital out.

That Margi TV-to-Go sounds like a product I could use.

A big minus is of course the lack of DScaler or equivalent. Has anyone tried this card? How is the picture quality compared to DScaler solutions?
