TV out (S Video) -> 15" LCD PC Monitor

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.....

But I have an LCD monitor that is sitting collecting dust. Does anyone know of a way (or if its possible) to convert an S-Video signal and hook it up to my old monitor? I'd like to put the old monitor to use by hookin a tv signal up to it.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the reply MartyJ19!

Huh- that thing is FANtastic. Ideally I'd love a cheap as heck solution since this is just sorta a stepchild side project. I think my woman would flip if I dropped that much $$ on a solution.

I'm wondering if there's something I can build to possibly reach my desired solution. It just needs to be basic, nothign fancy at all. I'm good at building simple circuits & soldering...so I'm hoping there's a cheaper solution out there.

The Viewsonic Nextvision N4 might do the trick - much cheaper, or get one from eBay for even less. Also, I think Fry's has some similar units at fairly reasonable prices. I have the N5 for the closed caption capability. Works great, but the many options for the closed captions are buried deep in the menu system. The N4 and N5 do NOT process HDTV signals, but they have a NTSC tuner and other inputs. I am using S-video with my N5.

Be aware of what you're getting into. The built-in speakers (if they exist) are probably inadequate - you'd at least want powered PC speakers, or send the audio to a receiver/speaker setup. Now you are up to three power cords/bricks, (not counting th DVD player and cable box) and the remote for the converter won't turn off the LCD (mine blinks a bright green LED when no signal is coming in) or receiver/speakers.
