The Denon can only play audio via its USB port. Your best bet (only?) is via HDMI ARC, if your TV supports it. Most HDMI 1.4 devices do.
If the speakers are set to SMALL in the AVR, there will be as, at the least, rerouted bass from the front channels will be sent to the subwoofer. But be aware that, depending upon whether or not your TV can pass 5.1 via its digital output, and whether or not the input source material is 5.1 to begin with, you may be dropping the LFE channel (the ".1" of 5.1), altogether. If the TV only passes a 2 channel downmix, the LFE channel will be dropped from 5.1 material. If the input source material is only 2.0 to begin with, this would not be a concern.Quote:

I only have a 2.1 setup. Would there also be sound to the sub doing digital output to receiver?
