I already have a TV stand that states that hold max of 50 inch TV. Now I am getting a 52 inch LCD, can I use the existing stand or I have to buy a new one? I checked that the maximum weight is still OK.

Yes, it's capable of holding a 52" LCD. Dimensions of a 52" LCD are very close to a 50" one.
