Hello guys. I did some search on the forum but can't to find any information that related to my issue.

I bought a wall mount for my 52' LCD the problem is the width of the wall mount is only 20 inches wide. My spacing between the stud is 24 inches. Any suggest on how I would install it? No I can not return the wall mount.

I was thinking to go to homedepot and get a piece of plywood and cut so I can screw it on the two studs and then put the wall mount on the plywood. Is that strong enough to hold it?

Plywood should work as long as the mount is securely fastened to the plywood.

Other options would be:

Put blocking between the two 24"OC studs (after cutting a hole in the sheetrock) and mount to that. The downside is that it would take a little work to patch/paint the sheetrock but if you're careful you can use the sheetrock you remove for the patch.

Add a stud where you need it (creates an even bigger hole in the sheetrock)
