i have htpc with creative 5.1 speaker system. and use olevia LCD TV for the monitor. can i use the receiver to use 5.1 speaker for watching tv instead tv speakers.

I think it is possible if your sound card can accept and process/decode a digital input signal. I think some Creative cards can do this, including the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum that I have, but I've never tried.
