Folks,

Now that PBS is also up on TWC Houston, we have 9 full time HD Channels.

Yes, the non HD cable material does not compare to the DIRECTV channels but for 9 HD Channels - specially the superb PBS channel it is perfect.

Now if someone knows if TWC Houston is planning to add new HD Channels please post here - how about HD Net.

I've read that HDNET has an exclusive deal with DirectTV. The reason given was the existing arrangements between the football leagues and the outlet service. I guess this would have prevented HDNET from providing any football content which was already available from DirectTV.

How about sharing some of that sugar with your good friends down in Austin? We are stuck with one HD channel (HBO) and a crappy waiver situation.

How do you get 9 channels? There are the 4 major networs, PBS, and SHO and HBO. That's 7 by my count. Do you get east/west feeds of SHO and HBO? Just curious. I'm picking up the 5 OTA stations currently, and don't really have any interest in SHO/HBO. But if TWC starts adding other stations, I might consider.

Yes we get the HBO and Showtime east and west coast feeds.

HDNet is not exclusive. Never has been. Never will be.


As soon as another cable or satellite provider gains broadcast rights to all or most of the sports packages DirecTV has broadcast rights to, you'll see HDNet there.

I meant the picture quality of normal/premium channels cable on TWC is terrible even after replacing my cable box with a S video capable box.
