Hi, does anybody knew how to adjust the tree zoom modes of a TH42PA20 ?


Zoom1 usually is too much, and zoom2/zoom3 is almost useless. I've got the tech manual but there is no mention to it.

You can't "tweak" the zoom modes. You have to live with the picture they give you. Most Panny owners seem to use the JUST mode to stretch the picture.


The Panny only has 4 Aspect Modes.


This is something people need to check out before buying a widescreen tv. You need to make sure you like or can live with the available Aspect Ratio modes the TV has.


I have a Pioneer and it has more modes to choose from. Before I bought my tv I made sure the Aspect modes would NOT distort my picture too much.

The aspect mode options was a major factor in my buying decision.


You'll get used to the stretch/zoom modes in time. Don't worry.

There are so many issues to consider when buying a TV, I think it is easy to overlook the zoom modes. This is one of the few areas where Panasonic falls down.


If you do not like the Panny zoom options - there may be other modes from your STB, DVD player etc.
