compilation of the features of Twitching broadcasting on the Xbox One:

I think the coolest feature is the ability to go from watching a stream to jumping into the broadcaster's game.

http://news.xbox.com/2014/02/xbox-one-twitch-broadcasting
  • The Xbox One version was developed directly by Twitch itself, according to an AP report.
  • Xbox One users will reportedly be able to jump directly into playing games with the person supplying their video feed, and launch a stream by saying "Xbox, Broadcast" through the Kinect microphone.
  • Twitch on Xbox One will also allow users to view streams coming from any device...
  • The Xbox One app also allows Twitch users to archive their streams for later viewing, and allow for ten full lines of Twitch chat to be seen on a sidebar next to the video.

How to Prepare for Twitch Broadcasting

From your computer:

Go online to www.twitch.tv and sign up for a Twitch account.

In Settings, go to Channel & Videos and select Archive Broadcasts.

On your console:

Sign into your Xbox One console and download the Twitch app.

You can customize your picture-in-picture to broadcast both your gameplay and yourself through Kinect.

In your Profile, make sure your presence is set to “online”

In the Settings app under “Privacy and Online Safety,” make sure the option to “See if you’re online” is set to “Everyone” and “Broadcast gameplay” is set to “Allow.”

Also in the Settings app under“ Privacy and Online Safety,” make sure the option to “Share content made using Kinect” is set to “Allow.”

In the Settings app under “Preference,” check “Allow broadcasts and Game DVR Uploads”

In the Settings app under “Kinect,” check “Kinect on” and to include Kinect audio in your broadcast check “Use Kinect microphone for chat.”

I don't know what's going on over there with Microsoft but so many online things going on at once tonight can't be a good thing. Guys talking about Microsoft betting the farm on Titanfall might want to reconsider that. Personally I think they're betting the farm on Azure and their online structure as a whole. They must have a set of brass one's to have all this happening basically at the same time.

Not that I'll really be using Twitch broadcasting too much most likely, but I hate that Auto-record in games is tied to the same settings as "Xbox Record That" and Twitch Broadcasting. Too many games just spam you and your friends' feeds with recorded clips (worst offender I've seen being Madden 25, which records every single touchdown that both you and your opponent score).

the broadcasting is very cool! not that I'll broadcast myself, but got a notification that a friend was broadcasting killer instinct, then popped right into it.

That's cool if it tells you when a friend is broadcasting.

Hows everyone finding the lag/latency?

I would imagine playing an online game like Titanfall while streaming on Twitch a complete nightmare!

i have 30mb down, 2mb up, i don't think i stand a chance of gaming and live uploading.

I thought the live game streaming was only 720P? And playing an online game doesn't use much bandwitdh either. So between that and the game it shouldn't use alot of bandwidth.

I'm assuming Live streaming looks better than archived streams?

Mine looks like it's a pixelated mess along with a lot of skipping. I have around 10Mbps upload.

It wouldn't work for me yesterday. It kept telling me I needed to put in the activation code again and when I tried I would get an invalid code error. worked for me on Monday after the patch. nothing yesterday though.

I ran into a glitch trying to broadcast TitanFall. If I started broadcasting before the match, as my pilot was jumping in, it would make an ugly sound and then just freeze. Happened twice in a row. Tried it again without broadcasting and everything was fine. Also tested trying to turn the broadcast on after I was in the match and it worked fine, even into new matches.

Thanks. This is someone else I can add to my follow list.

Although what is the deal with subscribing? I'm not paying $5 for a Twitch streaming channel.

you can totally set how much bandwidth you want to allocate to the stream. as the streamer, you can't tell a difference (at least I couldn't). my friend said even when i set at 800 kbps, it looked pretty good.
