Two Outputs Into One Input

403 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  tvtech1
I have just recently attained another computer for which i am going to use to play dvds, music, etc... What i want to know is that i am using a Analog 5.1 Speaker Setup (PC Speakers), and that i want to connect both computers to the speakers. I would like to know if using a y-splitter is a wise decision? I was going to use a audio selector, but the fact that i need to have 3x STEREO inputs per computer, has made it hard to find any thing pre built. Any Suggestions

The lowinpedance outputs would excessively load down the other output.

Don't 'Y' two outputs together.
Thanx mate, but how do i achieve what i want then?
You could use a 1 K resistor in series with each output to provide isolation.
