I am currently in the planning stages of my home theater, which is about to enter construction phase during my new home construction. It will be a fairly low budget HT in terms of equipment. I currently already own a Polk PSW110 10" Subwoofer and was considering purchasing another to make use of 2 subs in the room. OR, I was thinking of buying one 12" PSW125.

Any thoughts or recommendations or what option I should go with?

Thanks!

Here is exactly what your PSW110 is capable of, if this will help you to decide if it is the sub you want to use for your home theater:

If you are happy with 38Hz and up, this sub will do just fine. (SPL is wrong, my meter was not calibrated for this sweep)

If on the other hand, you want better performance than this, check out the budget subwoofer thread.  There are lots of $300 and under subs that play strong down into the 20's.

The best performance for the least amount of money will not be a Polk, as far as I know.

I'll definitely check out the budget subwoofer thread. I should have mentioned that it will he used with a pair of Polk 65Ts and 15C center. Would it be better to go with a Polk sub or a different manufacturer?

You do not need to match brands between mains and sub. Again if you can score a dsw660 for 300 or less I doubt there will be another sub that can beat it for less. If you can not, look at the dayton sub1200 or 1500. Also the NXG 12 is rated pretty good for the money. There is also the Klipsch RW12D that you can score for 250.00 used. That would make a good budget sub.

Read my signature and here's my opinion. My subs are the first thing I'm replacing this summer. i do like running dual subs but these do not really satisfy me and I'm not even close to being considered "bass snobby"
