Two quick isolation transformer questions

I just salvaged a sweet-looking isolation transformer from a discarded piece of equipment waiting for the dumpster at work. It appears to work perfectly. Two questions about it, before it gets added to the system:


1. It says "750 VA" on it. Can I take this to mean 6.25A max load at 120V?


2. For those of you who remember more about circuit design than I do, does an isolation transformer always draw current whether the devices plugged into it are turned on or not?
