Just got my TX-696 back from the repair shop after 2 months.

I forgot a few basic steps for re-calibration.

1. Internal cross over is 80 on the 696 so I set the sub at 80 right?

2. The S & V disc says when the sound is the same (Left Speaker and Sub) then its calibrated. Don't we use the RS-SPL to calibrate the sub?

Or am I missing something- my ears aren't that good.

Thanks guys.

The receiver has its own crossover so you want to disable the one in the sub. If you can't do that, turn it up as high as it will go to get it out of the way. Use the RS meter to calibrate levels. If the receiver has test tones, use those. If not, use the S&V disk to generate the pink noise.
