I am trying to connect Xbox 360 and TX-SR603XB by component cable, then connect the receiver and TV by s-video cable. (Yes, I have an old flat TV.) Is this possible?

I tried once but got no signal on TV. Is there any trick that I miss?

Coolcow,

welcome to the forum!

Being not familiar with Onkyo AVR's, I'd suggest you to re-check on manual whether your AVR does upcovertion. If it does, than most certainly downconvertion will be possible (except from HDMI downwards).

Good luck & keep us posted.

Cheers / Avliner.

I don't believe SR603x does component->s-video downconversion. It does s-video->composite downconversion and also composite/s-video to component upconversion.
