I am wondering if anyone has been able to fix the front panel display problem that has happened to the sr-607 reciver i have read the detailed http://www.avsforum.com/t/857502/the-onkyo-tx-sr805-thread/17310 but as the layout of the 607 is diferant than the detailed pics on the 805 i am at a loss as to where i can find the the 2 resistors that need to be replaced i have 3 pictures of how my reciver looks inside

Help in this problem is realy needed as right now i have no reciver at all and getting any help from onkyo is like getting blood out of a stone also the reciver is out of warranty so getting it repaired will cost me more than the unit is worth

User Nilsvoss (on the forum) posted a fix over here:

Might be some talk of it here, but I think all of it's over there:

Oh wait, you posted over there.

To answer your question, you can up the wattage (if there is room) but not the ohms usually. But like Nils did there, I have made substitutions that were close (but not exact) and it worked. This is more of an advanced thing and when you are starting out, I would stick to the exact parts if I was you.

You can't really shotgun this problem. You will have to see where the voltages are getting to. Also, (especially if all the voltages look good) check for cold solder joints where the display tub itself solders into the board.
