I would get the Yamaha RX-V1075 due to overall track record of Yamaha receiver's. Google either company and see which company has more problems. I had a 807 onkyo only to crap out on me after two and a half years. This should not happen a thousand dollar receiver. A local repair guy in my city recommends Yamaha because he sees less of them in his shop. Anyways my $0.02

I'd go for the 828. Actually has more features, seems to have more "standard" modes for front heights, wides etc...


Plus it as independent crossovers for the different channels. Helpful if you're not able to run all the same or nearly the same speakers.
