UAV Reviews AVP700 and P1000

Thanks for posting the link Zissou. Some interesting points to be made in the review.


I recall seeing quite a bit of discussion and response to this review in the Arcam AVP700 thread. You may wish to check it out. From what I recall, there were some critiques of the review, with some fiar points being made by the responders.

The quick summary is that most folks thought it wasn't fair to compare the 700 to his idealized months-ago memory of the much higher-priced AV8, especially when he used such little test material. Calling the sound quality into question really surprised me (especially given the universal praise here in AVS land - a much tougher crowd than the rags). The funny thing is, it kind of fits in with my personal tastes. When it comes to beer, music, books, or whatever, I tend to like the more obscure and eclectic stuff that is often criticized, dismissed, or remains completely hidden from the mainstream.
