Hey there,

I just upgraded my 60gb to 320gb, and installed ubuntu. Need some help... Its the 7.10 version known as Gutsy Gibbon.

Anyone using such os? Any tips or pointers. I got everything working, however still experiencing some Blu Ray watching issues.

Let us know how that works out. I too tried yellowdog but couldn't get flash to work and couldn't figure out a way to get the ds2 to run with any emulators. If that's all been worked out I would definitely give linux another shot. That would be sweet, VOB's through VLC and better media management. Wish I could help you though.

Well, I was able to get it to work. Firefox works much better than the YDL distro I had, the gui is much faster also.

Working on getting VLC to work fully, although there are some bugs.

Was able to use the bluetooth also, however there is a slight shutting down issue. I did find an alternate way to do so. Kind of freezes and the only thing you are left is shutting down by the switch.

The work around is, you have to restart the unit - then @ kboot prompt type "boot-game-os" Oh, and I was able to get full resolution out of my WESTY 37w3. 1080p FTW!

Now what i am trying to do is get the GPU or some kind of driver that allows me to rig something...

Flash sadly does not work, or at least i cant access it.

The shutdown bug has been in Ubuntu on the PS3 for a long time. Gentoo doesn't have it but of course you have to compile everything.
