Ho hum -- at quick glance looks very much like the same set of programming that they had on last month and the month before that.

I'm not sure if there is anything new. I wonder if their thought process is that since all the major network stuff is in reruns, viewers can catch up with what they've been missing on Universal HD.
Month after month this channel continues to disappoint with very few notable exceptions. Failed series and B movies. Come on Universal! This could be such an amazing channel given the wealth of content NBC and Universal Studios owns. I don't expect them to show recent movies, but at least more then one movie worth watching each month. Why not show last season of your successful shows? get more people interested in your product and maybe they'll tune in for the new first runs.
"Lost Highway" & "Backdraft". Fairly cool. Funny how a weak schedule make middle of the road flicks stand out a bit more than they deserve.
Jeez... I am finally seeing why so many people hate this channel. The people over at Universal are cheap bastards. Like many have said before. They have one of the best library of movies around. This channel could be unbelievable if they wanted it to be. TNTHD sucks. INHD sucks. Now UniversalHD is really starting to suck.
Yep, These channels are worthless most of the time. People will stop paying for this garbage if it continues.
I only watch for u.s. open tennis in september/august.
Yes, mostly garbage...an occasional jewel.
All I can say is thank god for the HDNets
The mega corporations that own the networks don't get HD, the Cable Companies Don't get HD and the Sat's damn sure don't get it with HD-lite. There is so much misinformation being sold to consumers by the idiots at BB, CC and Walmart so 90% of HDTV buyers which are Joe 6 packs don't get HD either. They turn on VH-1 or a DVD and actually think they are watching HD. Because of the most ignorant people all over America, we the actual people that like HD and look forward to it are stuck watching SD crap and the crap that joke channels like Universal HD put on the air. I have always said it the people who run NBC-Universal are the most incompetent human beings with the exception of the Crapcast CEO. These people should be beaten senseless and forced to go before the stockholders and explain themselves. They have Sci-Fi and MSNBC two of the most killer applications for HD and yet, we are still watching them in SD.

The CEO of crapcast should be put in jail.

As far as I am concerned, the networks should just stop broadcasting HD altogether. They don't get it and they never will.

What a joke.

Absolute garbage!!! The worst yet!!! At least in the past several months one could count on 2 good movies. June-nada. God, I hope my area gets Verizon FIOS soon so I can get HDNET.
Man o man. Well...the only thing I can say is thanks for the recent airing of The Jerk. One of my favorites.
HDNet

HDNet Movies

UHD

Discovery HD

I only record one program from these 4 channels, Quantum Leap. In other words, about 2/3rds of the HD package is worthless. Not to mention, the movies on TNT are a crap shoot!

I guess if it were not for the ESPN's I would probably turn it off.

If it wasn't for BSG on Sunday night's, I could honestly say I never watch UHD.

What's the actual reason they're holding back "the good stuff"? What's in it for them to continually rebroadcast the same old crapola over and over again? I thought that they already had most of their grade "A" properties already scanned to HD. Maybe because of the lack of commercials- they figure we aren't entitled to better content?

If you're just going to recycle the same old-same old over and over again.... why bother. Just shut it down if it's too much trouble to run correctly.

It just boggles the mind......

I couldn't disagree more about HDNet/HDNet Movies. I DVR at least 3-5 things a week from HDNet and 5-10 movies a month from HDNet Movies (if only my SA8300HD had more space, I'd DVR more!)

Seriously -- if you're any kind of movie buff, there's got to be something worthwhile for you each month on HDNet Movies. And if you're a music fan, there is a consistent variety of interesting music programming on regular HDNet.

Agreed, HDNet is always improving themselves. What's on and whether you like it or not is completely subjective.... however, the caliber of programming on the HDNet's blows UHD out of the water. I appreciated UHD olympic coverage, but not to the point where we have to watch it for the next two years. Oh, and fricken Skulls III!!!!!
Dr. Giggles and The Sentinel! :D

I'm not kidding. :)
This channel began life as Bravo-HD. I suspect the suits at Universal realized that that was probably not the right direction. But since it was up and running, they decided to re-brand it and run essentially free "B" content from their in house Universal library until they decide what to really do with it and when.

I'd be willing to bet it eventually morphs into USA Network HD.
