Titles says it all really. These guys were meant to be distributing most of the UK Canal releases but we havent seen (Or even heard of) any titles from them yet. (They own Rambos, T2 and lots of others). Anyone know if they are still due to release in the UK or is it going to be French import only?


Meanwhile Optimum (A much smaller UK distro) are showing support for the Canal titles they have and some owned by Universal in the US too but this just majes me wonder even more if Momentum will bother releasing.

Browsing through amazon.co.uk's site, it appears that La Haine is the only Studio Canal release that has a UK version out:

Since that one doesn't suffer from a poorly pitch corrected audio master, could it be that Studio Canal caught the issue with their releases that suffer from the issue only after they released the french versions of the titles, and are holding back release in other regions until they can fix the audio issue?

The Pianist is another Momentum release and it's on sale in the UK. Purchased mine from HMV.

Pianist and La Haine are under Optimum not Momentum. In fact Optimum told me to expect the following in March:

BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF - HD

DEER HUNTER - HD

RAN - HD

MULHOLLAND DRIVE - HD


Those above are pretty much all of the Canal releases distributed by Optimum in the UK. Most of the rest, including the Rambos are distributed by Momentum, AFAIK Momentum have not announced or delivered anything at all!

Optimum used to distribute Studio Canal products in the UK. I read recently that SC had acquired Optimum. I hope that means more SC titles with English subs.

Ah, so they are. Didn't have the discs on hand, and got confused b/c of similar names
